With reference to the attached, I beg to report that
on the receipt of the Correspondence from Foreign and Home
Offices (No.309686) on this Docket, I at once got into touch
with Chief Inspector Hall, of the Customs and Exoise, as I
knew from my previous enquiries and association with him in
the case against Sidney Cohan, Harlow Filbert Robinson, and
Thomas Clarence Horne, that he intended to apply for pro-
cess against Heckrath, and the information contained in the
Docket would be of assistance to him.

the 21st inst. stating that Heckrath had arrived there on

wards telephoned to me that he had called at the Hotel, and
had been unable to see Heckrath, and that he intended to ask
D.D. Inspector Sanders, "F" Division, for assistance in order
to see and interview Heckrath. I sent Corres. 71588, re-
ferring to Heckrath alias Hinton, to "P" Division, for the
information and assistance of D.D. Inspector Sanders.
Mr. Hall informed me yesterday that he went to the
Coburg Court Hotel with D.D. Inspector Sanders, and wES
successful in seeing Heckrath. He told Heckrath the
evidence we had collected against him and the latter immė-
diately said he would plead guilty, and asked the Customs
